Gifting “In Flight” to the mayor during the inaugural Lebanese Heritage Day for New York City. From Left: Michael Karsouny, Consul Majdi Ramadan of the Lebanese Consulate of New York City, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Nahna Maak transforms the Lebanese flag into abstract art, where the cedar tree becomes a bold symbol of unity and resilience. Drawing on Etel Adnan’s belief that “painting is a kind of poetry expressed visually,” each piece captures Lebanon’s struggle, beauty, and rebirth. This project is a call for collective healing, forging a bridge between homeland and diaspora through shared history and unshakable endurance.
Series 1 and Series 2 are sold out; we are honored to share prestigious homes for these pieces including the Lebanese Consulate, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, and the Mayor of New York City.
If you are interesting in a flag for your collection, we would be happy to add you to our waitlist for Series 3.
