After a period working on abstract oil paintings, Karsouny turned inwards. On a quest for meditation, he delved into Hindu philosophy and joined the Advaita Vedanta community in Beirut and New York City. The digital paintings, reminiscent of Rothko in their minimalistic shapes and blending of colors, slowly unvei their inner radiance. More than that, the collection is a direct translation of the artist's experience of silence and inner stillness. They represent a void, yet exude energies, at times positive, at others melancholic, but always bright. The collection is envisioned as embodying the artist's daily bliss, produced by daily meditation: Once in touch with his body and breath, immersed in the present moment, completely alone, and finally intimate with himself, one attains the simplest yet most potent form of being. Shine is a collision; it expresses one's immolation during encounters with one's soul and the void. There is no mind left, and no thought. Shine is pure feeling translated through light, color and orbs, a feeling without a name, charges of energy pregnant with clarity and silence.
